3D printing is much talk. Followers allow themselves to be dazzled by the world that it opens up, the more adventurous are inspired by the one it could give life. Olivier Van Herpt is part of the second category of people. After designing and realized by himself a couple of 3D printers, he tried to challenge the limits of material, safety, engineering, form and function and started work with the ceramic in order to create objects larger that the traditional 40 cm (the maximum dimension for 3D objects before deforming). A new extruder and clay hard are the hidden secrets of the young designer. The result is an extraordinary panorama of possibilities, hybridization and shades, far from a production actually “mechanic”.
